CaRi-Plaque™

FDA cleared, AI-assisted analysis to measure plaque characteristics and stenosis

What we measure

Plaque Composition

The type of plaque present, e.g. calcified, non-calcified, or low-density non-calcified plaque.

Plaque Burden

The amount of plaque in the coronary arteries.

Stenosis

The degree of narrowing in the vessel.

Plaque analysis report - Caristo Diagnostics

A CaRi-Plaque report provides healthcare professionals with comprehensive and actionable data based on visual representations of each coronary vessel and associated quantitative outputs. Each report includes:

  • Maximum Stenosis
  • Total Plaque Volume
  • Calcified Plaque (CP) Volume
  • Non-calcified Plaque (NCP) Volume
  • Low Density Non-calcified Plaque (LD-NCP) Volume
  • Plaque Burden
  • Remodelling Index

Robust accuracy validated against independent clinical experts

The clinical validation study revealed excellent agreement in reported quantitative plaque characteristics between CaRi-Plaque and qualified independent medical expert readers (SCCT Level 3 and 2 Readers) using a multi-centre, international patient population.

Pearson Correlation Coefficients for key CaRi-Plaque outputs were:

  • Maximum Stenosis: 0.930
  • Total Plaque Volume: 0.985
  • Calcified Plaque Volume: 0.999
  • Noncalcified Plaque Volume: 0.977

In addition, CaRi-Plaque demonstrated good inter-operator agreement for all metrics, with an equivalent variability to that observed between the independent medical experts (SCCT Level 2 readers).

Secure and Seamless Workflow

Ordering a CaRi-Plaque analysis from Caristo is seamless for healthcare professionals.

  • CT scan data can be sent to the cloud with a simple mouse click.
  • Caristo first de-identifies the data before processing the images through its CaRi-Plaque software for preliminary plaque analysis.
  • Trained internal operators then review the results, generate the CaRi-Plaque Report, and deliver it to the originating healthcare professional in either DICOM-conformant or PDF format.
